From the name of this product, it may be perceived that Gastric Relief aids in optimal digestion. This purely Ayurvedic polyherbal formulation is comprised of the following herbs:
Senna Leaf ( Cassia angustifolia )
Known by the name Swarnapatri– the golden leaf plant in Sanskrit because of the golden brown hue of its dried leaves, it has been traditionally used in various Ayurvedic laxative tablets. The eternal science of Ayurveda has always considered the levels of Pitta dosha in the body while dealing with gastrointestinal disorders. Hence it is advised to administer purgation to detox the imbalanced levels of Pitta dosha in the body. Senna root with its Madhura and Tikta rasa (sweet and bitter tastes) acts as a Pitta pacifier and its Rooksha guna (dryness) adds to its ability to maintain normal downward movement of Vata dosha (Vata Anulomana).
Amla Fruit ( Emblica officinalis)
Indian gooseberry is known as Dathri (” The mother “) in Ayurveda for the overall support it grants to the body and as one of the best herbs for stomach health.
Because of the primary sweet and secondary astringent taste along with its Sheeta virya (cool potency), it acts as an excellent agent for normal bowel movements. It balances Vata and Pitta doshas in the body.
Chebulic Myrobalan Fruit (Terminalia chebula)
Known as the ‘Divine fruit’ in Ayurveda. It is one of the best-known rejuvenating herbs. It has maintained its place as a long-term staple herb in Ayurvedic practices. Its sweet post-digestive taste makes this a natural laxative and an auspicious Pitta pacifier.
Belleric Myrobalan Fruit (Terminalia bellerica)
Known by the name Bibhitaki, Belleric Myrobalan is among the well-known traditional herbs for gut health. Acharya Charaka, has mentioned Bibhitaki as an excellent laxative accounting for its hot potency and Madhura vipaka (sweet post-digestive taste).
Castor Root (Ricinus communis)
Castor for its plethora of herbal components is used for a wide range of treatment procedures in Ayurveda. Among the Vata balancing and aphrodisiac herbs, Ayurveda considers castor root as one of the best choices. Its hot potency and sweet taste help support the normal Vata flow within the body which in turn contributes to smooth evacuation.

Ayurveda and Smooth Evacuation
Ayurveda and Smooth Evacuation
Have you ever thought how the Tridoshas influence an effective excretory system?
As per the ancient science of Ayurveda, Vata dosha encompasses all integrative, motor, and sensory aspects of the body including procedures involved in digestion and evacuation. It permeates and makes way through subtle as well as gross body channels and expels out various excretory products.Vata imbalances may lead to hard and dry stools. It may also contribute to irregularity, bloating and gurgling sounds.
Eliminative disarrays are also caused due to the imbalanced Pitta and Kapha doshas. An imbalanced Pitta dosha leads to oily, slimy, sticky, slow, copious stools, while an imbalanced Kapha dosha forms pungent odored, semi-solid, loose, and yellowish-green or red-tinged stools.
Ayurvedic therapeutic strategies for gastrointestinal disturbances are thus as always based upon the Tridoshic balance of the body.
Ama And Agni Correlation With The Bowel Habits
In one way or another Ama is the reason for all diseases in the body and an impaired Agni is the causative factor of Ama as per the perpetual science of Ayurveda. Chronic imbalances of Tridoshas when accompanied with Agnimandya (weak biofire) leads to Ama. This gradually leads to the blockage of Malavaha srotas (excretory pathways) and results in irregular bowels added to improper formation and passage of stools.
Bowel imbalances are often considered as a minor ailment while it is to be viewed from a wider perspective- the broad spectrum of bodily and mental reflexes that a smooth evacuation has a hold on is amusing! Starting from your mood for the day, to the nutritional deficiencies accounted by your excretory irregularities, bowels are indicators of a lot of health problems. And for the same reason, they are not to be taken for granted!
Wait not! It’s high time to give your body herbal assistance for its normal excretory functions…
