We are all facing multi-dimensional levels of stress. While we try to fit ourselves into this schedule we forget the importance of our digestive fire.

We eat meals without realising whether the previous meal has been digested, often skip meals due to  the lack of time, snack between meals and restrain to a bottle of  carbonated drink to quench our thirst and think that the body will do it’s magic. But, these fluctuations in food habits with constant tantrums of stress create turmoil with our digestive mechanism and hampers the entire process of digestion, even killing our appetite. Digestive problems have been so normal in our lives that we don’t realise it’s an abnormality anymore.

Gooseberry also has the potential to balance Agni (digestive fire), eliminate Ama (undigested matter) from the body, and thus supports in clearing the stomach. It is among the best-known herbs for digestive health.

Harithaki (Terminalia chebula) commonly called Chebulic Myrobalan. It’s pericarp is its official part and used both in traditional practices as well as in  modern Ayurvedic formulations to support the normal mechanism of Gastrointestinal tract. It is Dipana (Ability to ignite digestive fire) and Pachana  (carminative) combined with the capacity to manage bowel movements effectively with it’s Vata anulomana (ability to support normal movement of Vata dosha).

Ayurveda and Digestion Relief

Ayurveda and Digestion Relief

Agni and its Antithesis

A well-functioning normal Agni (digestive fire) is essential to maintain a healthy body. The result of impaired digestive fire is a disease-causing substance called Ama, which in turn is the aetiology for much other pathology. Ama is crucially a form of undigested matter that cannot be benefited to the body. Ama the antithesis of good Agni has to be eliminated to restore your metabolic actions. This vicious cycle between impaired Agni and Ama is responsible for all maladies. Thus the enhancement of impaired digestive fire is of foremost importance to maintain health, which can be achieved with the help of this product.

The presence of a well-functioning normal Jathara Agni (digestive fire) is necessary to strengthen the person from within. Digestive fire is not merely the combination of a few acids and enzymes but a bioelectrical force. If the fire is increased or depleted the overall metabolism gets disturbed. This in turn gives upshots a cascade of pathological events which leads to systemic ailments.

Role of Pitta dosha in Digestion

Ayurveda is represented in the forms of three humours, being Vata , pitta and kapha. Digestive functions are governed by the optimum functioning of tridoshas but more predominantly by Pitta dosha; a  symbolic representation of fire as among the Five universal elements.

Disrupted food habits and constant consumption of junk food that has tangy flavor aggravates the Pitta dosha and increases its quantity. This excessive Pitta tends to create imbalances in the body resulting in heartburn and acidity.

Pitta is hot, fiery, and sharp and so the use of herbs with Sheeta (cold) potency helps to support the normal functioning of Pitta and thereby support normal acid balance in the body.

Crucial Role of Vata in digestive mechanism

All the three humours play a vital role to establish an optimal digestive mechanism, of which Vata dosha is responsible for all the propulsive movements. The normal movement of Vata or Anuloma gati is essential to maintain natural gas movements and peristalsis. The presence of Ama disturbs this normal mechanism and triggers abnormal movement of Vata dosha called Pratiloma gati. The availability of herbs such as Triphala and Maricha in this formulation supports the normal movements of Vata and helps in optimal flatulence propulsion.

Moreover, Kapha dosha is the most important factor that helps balance all mechanisms taking place in the body. In case of digestion Kledaka kapha is responsible to maintain acid balance by mixing bolus with mucus present inside the stomach, thus softening the ingested food.  Presence of  Durva and Musta in this formulation helps to balance this Kapha and thus support in acid balance.

By now it might be crystalline that this amazing Ayurvedic formulation is the best to wrap up all your digestive concerns, as it helps to support a normal digestion, optimal acid balance and support normal movement of gas. In this era of total confusion, it is prerequisite to possess a magical mist that can support your digestion to maintain your health.
